The ACT

*Use the Eagle’s View Academy CEEB code 100822 when registering for test.

 

Length of ACT: 3 hours or 3 hours, 40 minute which includes the optional writing section.

 

Cost of Test: $34.00 or $49.50.50 which includes the writing section.

  • The ACT is accepted by almost all colleges across the U.S.   

  • Each section is scored on a scale from 1-36, and then divided by the number of sections taken to arrive at a composite overall score of 1- 36.

  • There is not any penalty for wrong answers.

  • They do have a score choice option where you can choose which exam scores you would like to send to each college.

  • We recommend that you DO take the ACT WITH the writing portion, since many colleges require the writing section with your ACT score.

  • Since there are many questions for each section, it is beneficial to be a strong reader.

  • Fee waivers are available for low-income families. (2017-2018 ACT Fee Waiver Requirements)

 

ACT Sections

  • English: 75 questions (45 min.)

    • Sentence Structure, Grammar and Usage, Punctuation, Rhetorical Skills

  • Math: 60 questions (60 min.)

    • Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry

  • Reading: 40 questions (35 min.)

    • Passages based on Fiction, Social Science, Humanities, and Natural Sciences

  • Science: 40 questions (35 min.)

    • Charts and Graphs, Experiments, and Conflicting Viewpoints

  • Optional Essay: sub score 2-12 counts for half of the English/Writing score (40 min.).

Professional Misconduct 

All employees and agents of a public school district, charter school, or private school have an obligation and legal responsibility to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Failure to report misconduct may result in penalties up to termination of employment and revocation of an educator's certificate. Such misconduct may include, but is not limited to, obscene language, drug and alcohol abuse, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors.  All incidents of professional misconduct should be reported to:Josh Sheetz,School Administrator, at 904-786-1411 Extension 114

If someone tells you about misconduct, be a LEADER: Listen, Evaluate, Act immediately, Document, Encourage, and Report.

Professional Ethics Standards
In accord with the Florida Ethics in Education Act, all employees of Eagle’s View Academy have a duty to report all suspected or actual cases of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect; have immunity from liability if they report such cases in good faith and have a duty to comply with child protective investigations. There is a legal penalty for not reporting suspected or alleged child abuse or alleged misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators. The Florida Abuse Hotline is 1.800.962.2873.
